The Ministry of Health supported the convening of three seminars on “Preventive Strategies in Medical Education”. In accordance with the notice of the Education Department of the Ministry of Health, we conducted a “Primary Health Care Fundamentals” test in 1991 for all undergraduate fourth-year undergraduates to understand students’ understanding of primary health care content. Test scores show some teachers and students lack of understanding of primary health care. This prompts us to think calmly about what role higher medical colleges should play in primary health care.
