In the spring of 2012, the market for Chinese art entered a period of adjustment, and the turnover of the mainland auctions such as the Beijing-Tianjin-Tanggu, the Yangtze River Delta and the Pearl River Delta all showed varying degrees of decline. Auction companies in all regions made every effort to exert their auction advantages and marketing strategies in order to make use of the market adjustment to reshuffle, compete for more resources and customers, and raise their position in the industry. With Shanghai Duoyunxuan and Hangzhou Xiling Yinshe agency auction ended, the spring of 2012 basically came to an end. Despite the overall adjustment of the auction industry, several auction houses in the Yangtze River Delta region have made special appearances. Highlights such as Shanghai School of Painters, seal cutting, Tianhuang and porcelain highlight the geographical advantages of Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai. Collectors from the Mainland, Hong Kong, Maucao and Taiwan are now making the auction, and some auctions have continued to drop from the pre-show. They have maintained their popularity and hot scene and proved that the market is better than expected. In the face of adjustments, this year’s auction market may be a good opportunity for these auction companies to grow and clear up their routes.
