Dichlorobenzene, dibromobenzene and nitrochlorobenzene are common chemical raw materials or reagents in which unwanted isomers are often mixed. The boiling points between these positional isomers are approximate, and in particular the meta-para isomers are generally difficult to separate. In the case of capillary columns coated with selective fixatives, shorter columns can be used to quickly and efficiently separate and determine isomers. Isolation of various isomers of p-dichlorobenzene, dibromobenzene and nitrochlorobenzene has been reported in the literature but it has not been fully explored using PEG-20M capillary columns for their separation
