《比利·林恩的中场战事》讲述了19岁少年比利·林恩在成为战争英雄后和队友一起应邀参加NFL中场秀的故事。以比利·林恩的主观心理变化为叙事动力,在比利·林恩的第一视角所看所思中,个人情感、国家意识与战争观念交织一起,是以故事为背景,重在刻画个人纠葛与英雄成长的心理影片。其主题不是一部反战电影,它重在刻画比利内心的同时,展现的是美国不同民众对待战争的认识,展现的是多元化的战争观,而不仅仅是反战的单一主题,充满了反思色彩。
“Billy Lynn’s Midfielder War” tells the story of a 19-year-old Billy Lynn who was invited to the NFL midfielder with his team-mate after becoming a war hero. Taking Billy Lynn’s subjective psychology as a narrative motive force, in Billy Lynn’s first perspective, personal feelings, national consciousness and war concepts are intertwined. They are based on the story, Personal disputes and the psychological development of heroes. The theme is not an anti-war film. It focuses on describing Billy’s innermost feelings and at the same time shows the understanding of different people in the United States about the war. It shows a pluralistic view of war, not just the single theme of the war, Reflective color.
