1 Yellow River water and sediment conditions The Yellow River has a mean annual runoff of 58 billion m 3 and a groundwater resource of 40.4 billion m 3. The total water resources of the Yellow River Basin is 71.9 billion m 3. It is estimated that the ecological water requirement in the river is about 21 billion m ~ 3. The corresponding Yellow River can consume about 37 billion m 3 of water for national economy. The maximum available water volume of groundwater and runoff non-repetitive part is estimated to be 13 billion m 3, and the annual average water supply of surface water and groundwater in the Yellow River Basin is about 500 100 million m ~ 3. With the acceleration of the construction of the central and western regions and the economic development of the basin, it is estimated that the 2010-2030 and 2050 years will require that the industry and agriculture consume the Yellow River water resources
