On September 8, 1998, at the commemorative seminar on International Literacy Day held at UNESCO Headquarters, the participating anthropologists, representatives of non-governmental organizations, educators and experts on poverty expressed their views on different aspects of their respective positions in South Africa, Argentina, the Netherlands, Pakistan and the United States.
