尊重民族差异就是把握各民族所处的客观实际,体现各民族群众的意愿,这是发展民族和谐关系的基础。维护民族公平就是妥善协调各民族的利益关系,正确处理民族内部矛盾和民族间的矛盾,这是发展民族和谐关系的保障。尊重民族差异,维护民族公平可以最大限度地激发民族发展活力,最大限度地增加民族和谐因素,从而实现社会的和谐,国家的长治久安。
Respecting ethnic differences refers to grasping the objective reality inhabited by all ethnic groups and reflecting the will of the masses of all ethnic groups, which is the basis for developing the harmonious relations among the nations. Maintaining national equity means properly coordinating the relations of interests among all ethnic groups and correctly handling the contradictions among ethnic groups and the contradictions among different ethnic groups.
