The Israeli air strike force, which is mainly composed of U.S. fighters, is the core of Israel's entire national defense strategy. In the previous three Middle East wars, the vulnerability of the Arabian coalition air defense system gave the Israeli Air Force a great space for activity. Before the 4th Middle East War, however, Egypt and Syria successively introduced the Soviet-made SAM air-defense missile system, Territorial radar network and the ground anti-aircraft artillery unit as a whole constitutes a dense air defense network.
