A quasi steady-state method was used to analyze the melting process with heat fromabove liquid free sorface. The results showed that, greatly affects the melting process. Incontast, natural convection had little effect compared with the Marangoni flow. The config-uration of the initial pool also has great effect on the melting process and the developmentof the solid-liquid interface.
