Tenofovir is an acyclic cluster nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor similar to adefovir. It is believed that it can be directly incorporated into the viral DNA chain, causing premature termination of the viral DNA chain synthesis. The drug has recently been the United States, Australia
