第二语言教学的目的主要是培养学习者把语言作为交际工具来掌握。在语言教学中,文化教学的重要性又是显而易见的。因此,文化因素应融入第二语言教学中,脱离了文化因素的第二语言教学是僵死的。文化因素是关系到第二语言教学成败的不可或缺的教学因素,它应该与语音、词汇、语法等项目一样,作为一条主线贯穿于第二语言教学的始终。英汉谚语包含着各自民族的丰富的文化意蕴,谚语翻译中文化因素处理得好坏直接影响到翻译的成功与否。本文以谚语英汉翻译为例,探讨文化因素的导入在第二语言教学中的重要性。
The purpose of second language teaching is mainly to train learners to grasp the language as a communication tool. In language teaching, the importance of cultural teaching is obvious. Therefore, the cultural factors should be integrated into the second language teaching, and the second language teaching which is separated from the cultural factors is deadly. Cultural factors are the indispensable teaching factors that are related to the success or failure of second language teaching. They should be the main thread running through the second language teaching, just like the items of pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar. English and Chinese proverbs contain the rich cultural connotation of their own nation. Properly handling cultural elements in proverbs has a direct impact on the success or failure of translation. In this paper, English-Chinese translation of proverbs is taken as an example to discuss the importance of the introduction of cultural factors in second language teaching.
