2005年12月15日16时30分左右,吉林省辽源市中心医院门诊大楼起火,在短短的10 多分钟后就已经火光冲天,第三层楼的火势尤其猛烈,不时进发出巨大的火花。接着,紧邻门诊大楼的住院楼也开始着火并迅速凶猛燃烧,火舌在风力的作用下,疯狂外窜……被大火和浓烟围困的人们惊慌失措,乱着一团,许多人开始从窗口往下跳。此时,为了避免因跳楼出现人员伤亡,及时赶到火灾现场的消防官兵一边制止一边实施紧急救治。即便如此,因跳楼而伤亡的人数仍不断增加。
