采用电子计算机对能源供需进行预测管理,这在钢铁工业发达的日本已屡见不鲜。大型钢铁企业的生产过程较为复杂,而能源的种类也繁多。如有电力、煤气、氧气、氮气、压缩空气、油及各种水等。其能源的消耗是其它企业远不及的。随着钢铁工业的现代化,人工管理能源的方式已远不能满足生产工艺的要求,也不能较大幅度地降低生产成本,总而言之,不能实行最佳化管理。若以电子计算机为手段,便可根据所建的能源管理数学模型统计算出能源的发生量与其消耗量,然后以最合理的模式分配给用户。并可实时或定期将能耗状况随之反馈给计算机,实时掌握其平衡,实行闭环控制的最佳管理。能源消耗在钢铁企业中占总成本的三分之一左右。能够对生产过程中的耗能设备进行最佳的供给,则是逐步提高生产力的重要一环。本文叙述日本新日铁公司在能源供需方面所采取的预测管理措施。
