在中国古代绘画中,“自然”之格可以说是贯穿了中国绘画精神的始终,成为中国绘画的精神支柱。首先要说明的是,此时所谓的“自然”跟我们今天所说的大自然是完全不同的概念,而是一种“自然而然、不造作”的真诚的艺术表现形式。“自然”之格在古代绘画中有着不同的表现形式,即所谓“逸格”“平淡天真”。尽管表达方式不完全相同,却都是使艺术达到“自然”的一种途径。
In ancient Chinese paintings, the “natural” grid can be said to have run through the spirit of Chinese painting and become the spiritual pillar of Chinese painting.
