汤亭亭是美国华裔作家中最具影响力的人物之一，主要代表作有：《女勇士》、《中国佬》、《孙行者》和《第五和平书》。通过分析汤亭亭四部作品中的中国文化，发现中国文化内容的多少、作者对各层次中国文化的选择、以及对一些中国文化的态度不尽相同，这种不同表明了作者逐渐从族裔作家向普适作家转变。“,”Tang Ting-ting is one of the most influential Chinese American writers, the main representative:“the woman warrior”,“Chinese”,“monkey”and“the fifth book of peace”. Through the analysis of four works of Chinese culture, the author discovers how much content of Chinese culture, the choice of all levels of Chinese culture, and some different attitude of Chinese culture, this difference indicates the author to change gradually from the ethnic writers to the pervasive writers.
