2000年11月6～10日,经国家教育部批准,武汉大学主办了“数字时代图书馆与情报学教育发展研讨会暨高级研讨班”(Sino-U.S.Symposium on Library & Information Science Ed-ucation in he Digital Age)。教育部高教司副司长刘凤泰、社政司副司长阚延河,武汉大学副校长吴俊培、胡德坤等领导,中国和美国主要图书情报学院的30多名院长和系主任以及中国国家图书馆、中国科学院文献情报中心、中国科技信息研究所、国家工程与技术图书馆、上海图书馆等数十所信息机构的主要负责人和专家学者共102位代表参加了会议。与会专家、学者认真讨论了图书馆与情报学教育在数字时代
