The Third National Iodine Deficiency Symposium was held in October 1987 in Tunxi, Anhui Province. The meeting reviewed the fruitful achievements and major advances made in the scientific research on iodine deficiency disorders in our country for three years since 1984, and demonstrated the glorious prospect of controlling iodine deficiency disorders as soon as possible, bringing benefits to the people and benefiting future generations.
