鄂东地区大冶式铁矿是我国重要的铁矿类型之一。深入研究其成因,无疑对发展成矿理论和指导找矿有重要意义。关于它的成因,前人先后提出过矽卡岩型(接触交代)、闪长岩钠化蚀变和膏盐层促进成矿、三叠系沉积菱铁矿被改造成矿、矿浆成矿等不同看法。现以四年来对鄂城、金山店、灵乡和王豹山等四个岩体有关矿床研究所获的野外资料为基础,对成矿流体的性质进行初步探讨。
