矿石中微量锗的测定,普遍采用苯芴酮光度法。在盐酸、硫酸或高氯酸介质中,锗(Ⅳ)与苯芴酮形成1:2的难溶于水的络合物,其最大吸收在505毫微米处。由于有色络合物在无保护胶的溶液中迅速沉降,因而在加苯芴酮显色前需于溶液中加入动物胶或聚乙烯醇等作为保护胶体,以此使橙红色的锗-苯芴酮悬浮质点均匀而稳定地分布于显色体系之中,并定量地给出吸光度。
