In modern China, there are a variety of complex relations between the development of rural handicraft industry and modern industry. Based on the situation before the war of resistance against Japan in North China, this paper tries to illustrate the promotion effect of modern rural handicraft industry on modern national industry from the angle of market. Due to the great self-sufficiency of handicrafts of rural families in traditional society, since the most important textile industry in rural handicrafts is mainly in rural areas, it is often thought that handicrafts in rural areas have hindered the development of modern industries in the rural market and against the development of the machinery industry. This view is not entirely correct to the traditional rural self-sufficiency handicraft industry.
