北京大学人民医院急诊科护士长徐国英今年53岁,是一位有着近30年党龄的老党员。在这场抗击非典的斗争中,她一直战斗在最前线,在患者最困难,最危险的时候守护在他们身边,为他们战胜病魔增添信心。从4月7日急诊科确诊第一例非典患者开始,徐国英就忙碌在急诊科和非典病房之间。为了给患者营造更好的治疗环境,徐国英带领着她的年轻队员们勇敢地战斗在病房里,划分区域、布置环境、打扫卫生、设置消毒设施,不停地忙碌着。为了给病人补充营养,使他们早日康复,她自己掏钱买来水果,洗干净后切成小块再一碗碗地端到病人床前,喂他们吃。看到病人因为患病而心怀恐俱,谈非典色变,徐国英一有空就与病人聊天,告诉他们战胜非典的科学方法,说些劝慰的话,还及时与病人家属沟通,让家属通过手机安慰病人,鼓励他们鼓起勇气战胜病魔。徐国英用真诚的爱心和责任心努力工作着,每一次抢救,每一位病人的救治成功,都渗透了她的心血和汗水。
