Scientists generally agree that if you emit gamma-ray laser, you can get astonishing tremendous power. C.B. Collins, one of the scientists who conducted such a study at Tex-as University, estimates that the laser may produce 10 to 21 watts of power. This greatly exceeds the total power of the entire United States (10 ~ (12) watts) which is equivalent to 0.03% of the total solar output power. This brings a new level of energy for man-made energy-the “cosmic scale” in Collins’s words. At the second International Symposium on Laser Science held last week in Seattle, he said: The new exploration points out a good prospect that can overcome the difficulties encountered in trying to develop such lasers in the past. Collins cited 50 North American scientists specializing in gamma-ray lasers in Europe. With this power (10 ~ (21))
