扎卡里亚·塔米尔是当代叙利亚和阿拉伯世界最著名的前卫作家之一,以擅长短篇小说创作享誉文坛。他勇于在创作的道路上不断地探索、创新,作品具有鲜明的个性:篇幅短小,精雕细刻的语言,象征、讽喻中含有深邃的哲理,折射出复杂、严酷的现实,常令人读后掩卷深思。他也被认为是写短篇小说的诗人。其作品被译为英、法、德、俄、西、意等多种语言。这里所选译的《第十天的老虎》(An-Numur fi al-Yawm al-‘ashir)原载于1978年于贝鲁特出版的作者同名短篇小说集;《啊,被忘掉了的樱桃》(Ya Ayyuha al-Karz al-Mansi)与《男子汉》(Rijal)则原载于阿拉伯的“报刊书”丛书中的《扎卡里亚·塔米尔短篇小说选》(2001)。
Zakaria Tarmir, one of the most famous avant-garde writers in contemporary Syria and the Arab world, is renowned for his expertise in short story creation. He has the courage to continuously explore and innovate on the road of creation. His works have distinct characters: the short and elaborate language and symbol, the allegory contains profound philosophy, which reflects the complex and harsh reality and often makes people read After the cover conceal. An-Numur fi al-Yawm al-’ashir, chosen for translation here, was originally published in the same-named short story collection published by the author in Beirut in 1978. “Ah, forgotten cherry” Ya Ayulha al-Karz al-Mansi and Rijal were originally published in the Zachariah Tamil Short Stories Anthology in the Arab Press Series (2001).
