铁道战备舟桥处,前身为中国人民解放军铁道兵独立舟桥团,主要担负铁路舟桥保障和铁路施工任务,曾圆满完成了唐山地震京山线蓟运河铁路舟桥应急抢架和京通线北京密云水库白河大桥施工,1984年奉国务院、中央军委命令随铁道兵集体改工并入铁道部。全处现有职工1000人,其中工程技术人员73人(高级工程师10人,工程师34人),除六七式铁路舟桥器材外,拥有各类大型机械设备485台(套),大型运输车辆40余台。
