The effects of extrusion deformation on microstructure and refining properties of as-cast AlTi, AlTiB and AlTiC master alloys were studied. The deformation causes the Al3Ti phase in the as-cast master alloy to break, and the clustered TiB2 and TiC particles tend to disperse.
