中华全国文学艺术界联合会决定领导北京文艺工作者进行一次关于文艺工作方向问题的学习,藉以改造思想,改进工作。这个学习是迫切需要的。文艺界既然提出了方向问题,可见至少在文艺界的一部分领导工作人员中,对于这个问题还没有坚决的明确的答覆;而如果是这样,如果一部分文艺界领导工作人员对于自已行动的方向还有怀疑,那么,他们怎样好前进呢?事实正是这样。虽然一九四九年七月全国文学艺术工作者代表大会就已经宣布了接受毛泽东同志和一九四二年延安文艺座谈会上所指示的方向,但是这并不是说,不经过像一九四二年前后在解放区文艺界进行过的那样具体的深刻的思想斗争,这个方向就真的会被全国文学艺术工作者所自然而然地毫无异议地接受。一部分在一九四九年大会上举过手的作家,并没有真正了解毛泽东同志关于文艺工作的指示的内容,他
The All-China Federation of Literary and Art Circles decided to lead Beijing literary and art workers in conducting a study on the direction of literary and art work in order to reform their thinking and improve their work. This study is urgently needed. Since the literary and art circles have raised the question of direction, it can be seen that at least some of the leading staff members in the literary and art circles have not yet resolutely and clearly answered this question.
