The evolution of medium mass fragment emission time with space in the 30MeV / u40Ar + 159Tb reaction was reported. The experimental results show that the influence of emission space size on the IMF correlation function mainly comes from the density of the nuclear material of the emitter and almost does not depend on the mass of the source. For the high-energy fragments with shorter emission time (≤100fm / c) The density of the nuclear material led to the extraction of emission time becomes smaller. The emission time extracted under the normal nuclear material density parameter can be used as the upper limit value. For the middle-low energy fragments with longer emission time, the emission time does not change with the space size, and the extracted emission time value is the actual value.
