国家地名数据库管理系统是由民政部组织开发,集地名、区划、界线“三合一”的管理系统,是全国区划地名管理工作的重要平台。同时由于整个数据库涵盖了行政区划信息、群众自治组织、居民点、交通、旅游等多种属性信息,以及1:5万地形图数据和1:1万以上的城区图数据,这使得整个数据库不仅可以应用到区划、地名、界线管理,同时还可以应用的多个社会服务领域中去。
