灌水是新疆干旱区甜菜生产的关键因素,土壤水分状况对甜菜生长和糖分积累有显著影响。研究表明:良好的供水有利于甜菜生长,增加块根产量,但含糖率会明显下降。叶丛快速生长期是甜菜生长的需水临界期,这一时期缺水将严重影响产量。控制供水,尤其是控制后期供水可提高块根含糖率。在本试验条件下,甜菜合理的灌溉为全生育期灌水6-7次,总灌水量300-350m3/亩,叶丛快速生长期充足灌水,每次亩灌水量60m3,后期灌水量逐渐减少,每次亩灌水量在30-45m3。
