如何发挥图书馆的信息功能,变被动服务为主动服务,我馆从多方面做了努力和探索。我们从发挥图书馆信息资源优势,为科研提供服务出发,于1983年正式恢复出版了内部刊物《桥》。其内容包括介绍文献检索方法和新书刊;报道到馆的新书和资料及期刊中有关专业文献的题录。突出报道与我所科研项目有关的专题信息。如国际煤炭研究项目:一、G化学;二、煤气化;三、煤的加氢液化;煤气化专题文摘等,供领导及科研人员参考。
