PetroChina plans to invest 53 billion yuan in the next five years for oil and gas exploration and development. The average annual investment in exploration and development is 10.6 billion yuan, slightly less than 11.1 billion yuan in 2000. PetroChina plans to invest 20 ~ 2.4 billion tons of proven oil reserves in the next five years through the investment of new funds. The newly-added natural gas reserves of proven reserves will reach 75 billion to 800 billion yuan
