本文报道了从1982年1月至1985年2月对日本日月贝进行人工育苗的研究。试验结果说明北部湾产的日本日月贝的繁殖期为每年10月至翌年3月,繁殖盛期为每年11月至翌年1月。用人工升温方法诱导性腺成熟的亲贝,在适宜的海水理化条件下,经一定时间的潜伏期,亲贝大量排精产卵。收集精卵,进行人工授精,将受精后的胚胎,用玻璃缸进行培养,采取升温、控温、每天更换幼体培养水体一部分等技术措施,用单细胞藻类及干酵母片的水溶液,作为日本日月贝幼体的饵料,历经32天,终于培育成为日本日月贝幼贝210只。52天的幼贝,最大个体已达壳高313.90×壳长365.5微米,初步取得日本日月贝的室内人工育苗试验成功。
