Human serum paraoxonase (PON1) is an antioxidant enzyme in high-density lipoprotein (HDL) particles. In recent years, it has been found that PON1 attracts much attention by inhibiting the oxidation of low-density lipoprotein (LDL) through the degradation of oxidized phospholipids, which is a key enzyme that HDL prevents LDL oxidation and exerts anti-atherosclerotic function. Most studies show that PON1 concentration and activity are closely related to the occurrence and development of atherosclerosis. In addition, PON1 is a genetic marker of coronary artery disease, by detecting PON1 gene polymorphisms, can provide clues for the prevention of coronary artery disease
