Chinese art online trading began in 2008. However, due to many constraints at that time, the online transaction of artworks had not been widely promoted in China. After 2009, as the art auction market continues to explode, the Internet has gradually become the new battleground for art transactions. In 2011, Taobao, the largest e-commerce website in China, launched 20 auction lots of “Zeng 宓 calligraphy and painting auction”, with a total turnover of 800,000 yuan. It is understood that as of the end of 2012, the number of domestic art collection trading websites has reached more than 200. In recent years, the turnover of domestic traditional art auction houses has shrunk sharply, and the art online trading market has shown a trend of contrarian growth. Data show that in 2011 the amount of online transactions of art in our country was 1.2 billion yuan. In 2012, this figure soared to 1.8 billion yuan. In the first half of 2013, it already exceeded 2.8 billion yuan. The Culture and Marketing Department of the Ministry of Culture believes that it is estimated that in the next 10 years, the turnover of China’s art network will reach 7 billion yuan.
