Mineral processing industry is facing a series of environmental regulations. In order to adapt to the existing standards, it is important to understand the new restrictions that will be added in the future, along with the corresponding plans. Areas that will create new regulations in the future are: 1) increasingly pressing airborne particulate standards, particu- larly particles less than 2.5 μm (PM2.5); 2) emissions related to nanoparticles; 3) new standards for greenhouse gases (especially Carbon dioxide); 4) standards for mercury contained in gaseous emissions; and 5) “zero waste” propulsion. This article explores these areas and provides solutions to the mineral processing industry’s response to these emission standards for the current and foreseeable future.
