The transition from the cast coinage to the new struck coinage in China, were assisted by foreigners. Not only the equipments were imported from abroad, the first mint erected at Canton(Guangdong) was undertaking by Edward Wyon who was sent out by Heatons. Also the dies for initial coinage were engraved by Allan Wyon. Since there was rarely any description of Wyons found in Chinese literature. This article presents a short introduction of the two Wyons.
