July 15-16, 2016, Turkey attempted military coup. Many people in the political, academic and media circles believe that the coup may be under the direction or planning of the United States or the tacit approval of the United States. After the coup failed, the U.S. government called on all parties to exercise restraint and avoid bloodshed and violence. However, the U.S. government did not clearly oppose the coup. The Turkish government strongly urged the United States to extradite Fatura Gullen, the leader of the Turkish Islamic Movement who has long lived in the United States and is asylum-aided by the United States, and once closed the U.S. Kirkcalkea Air Base in Turkey. The reason why the United States and Turkey, as many years of military ally so suspect each other, is memorable.
