中草药是祖国医药伟大宝库的重要组成部分。运用近代科学知识和方法来研究中草药的有效成分是发掘整理提高祖国医药遗产不可缺少的重要内容。这不仅能从中草药中寻找更多防治疾病的新药,也为继承和发扬祖国医学遗产、创造我国统一的新医药学作出应有的贡献。建国三十年来,我所对中草药的研究一直列为主要科研项目,所内有植物化学、药理学及合成化学三个研究室密切配合进行。我所已故赵承嘏所长,早在1926年即开始中草药有效成分的研究,其他老一辈科学家如高怡生、朱任宏、曾广方等长期来亦作出很多贡献。解放以来,由于党及人民政府极为重视中医药的整理提高,因此我所中草药的研究工作获得了很大的发展,取得了显著的成果。这些成果大多是在发扬社会主义大协作,特别是与有关临床医院等单位协作之下完成的。
Chinese herbal medicine is an important part of the great treasure house of the motherland. The use of modern scientific knowledge and methods to study the active ingredients of Chinese herbal medicine is an important and indispensable part of excavation and consolidation of the medical legacy of the motherland. This will not only find more new medicines for disease prevention and treatment in Chinese herbal medicine, but also make due contributions to the inheritance and development of the medical heritage of the motherland and creation of a unified new medicine in our country. Since the founding of the People’s Republic of China thirty years ago, my research on Chinese herbal medicine has been listed as the main scientific research project. The three laboratories of plant chemistry, pharmacology and synthetic chemistry are closely cooperated. The director of my late husband, Zhao Chengtao, started the research on the active ingredients of Chinese herbal medicine as early as 1926. Other older scientists, such as Gao Yi-sheng, Zhu Ren-hong and Zeng Guang-fang, also made a lot of contributions in the long run. Since the liberation, as the party and the people’s government attach great importance to the improvement and consolidation of Chinese medicine, our research on Chinese herbal medicine has made great progress and achieved remarkable results. Most of these achievements are carried out under the guidance of major socialist cooperatives, especially with the cooperation of relevant clinical hospitals and other units.
