The social status of women is a topic of long debate. Indeed, because of all the different traditions and concepts, even the program of collective action adopted at the 1995 UN Women’s Conference in Beijing was difficult. Although women did not participate in the first Olympic Games held in Athens in 1896, they participated in every Olympic Games since 1900, and the number of participating sports increased.
