塞浦路斯含铜黄铁矿床与加拿大块状硫化铜—锌矿床,有许多相似之处及不同之处,将两者对比之后,可以看出加拿大矿床的复杂生成史,并可以重新研究它的成因。塞浦路斯矿床,产于水下喷出岩中,矿体位于火成杂岩的上部,岩石未经变形,且埋藏较浅,亦末受过很深的蚀变。而加拿大矿产于前寒武纪岩石中,其围岩基瓦丁绿色岩系在许多地方受区域变质影响而变形,并有花岗岩侵入。比较两处的情况,就可以了解,加拿大矿床,由于同生和火山喷气作用,最初产于古基瓦丁火山杂岩的上部,后来由于造山作用而变形,在高温高压之下,重新活动化,形成新矿体,贯入适当的构造。而塞浦路斯矿床是在靠近上部,并在相应的压力和低温下形成的,因此在构造和矿物方面,二者有重要的不同之处。现将塞浦路斯矿床和加拿大矿床的特征,分别介绍如后,并加以对比。以解决加拿大矿床的成因问题。
