初中阶段的教育教学,既属于基础性教学一部分,也属于连接性的教育阶段。初中阶段的学科设置,以基础性知识为主要项目,英语教学是最具价值的教学科目。英语是国际性通用语言,在基础教育阶段开展英语教育,既是国家发展建设的需要,也是培育人才全面发展的必然要求。初中英语以听说读写为主要的教学内容,而且在初中阶段的学生,接受能力强,模仿能力强,是语言学习的最佳阶段。初中英语教学要在传统方法的基础上,不断拓展教育思想,开创具有生机与活力的初中英语教学模式,实现初中英语教学的针对性和个性化发展。
