乙羽信子是日 本影坛上最受广大 观众尊敬和爱戴 的大明星。她原 名加治信子,1924年10月1日生于日本大阪。1950年开始步入影坛,同年,在新藤兼人编剧、木村惠吾导演的《处女峰》中首次登上银幕。从1952年起,直到今天,乙羽信子几乎在新藤兼人的所有作品中扮演角色。 1953年,乙羽信子在新藤导演的《缩影》中扮演一个备受压迫和蹂躏的艺妓一银子;在吉村公三郎导演的《欲望》中扮演等待丈夫从前线归来的妻子。由于乙羽信子在这两部影片中的演技出色,她荣获了该年度的蓝色绶带奖。五十年代,她拍摄的主要影片还有:《黎明前》《大阪宿店》《狼》等。
