河南省西峡县林业高中是1991年国家教委表彰的全国科教兴农先进单位,也是省级示范性职业高中。1983年开办以来,这所仅有48名教职工的小学校,本着振兴地方农村经济办实事的精神,在谈不上规模、没有现代化设备与校舍的情况下,举办各种技术培训班23期,达七千人次;举办林业规划员培训班17期,使全县林业技术人员迅速发展到五千余人,为农民脱贫致富作出了突出贡献,成为农家子弟向往的“致富专业户摇篮”。评价一所学校的好坏,看它所具备的条件只是一个方面,更重要的是看它的办学实效,西峡林业高中就是一个这样的典范。全国所有的林业高中如果都能像西峡林业高中这样办学,我们的林业事业将会得到更大的发展。
