金质邮票世界上第一枚金质邮票是非洲加蓬共和国于1965年发行的金箔邮票,重1.1 g,面值为1000法郎,采用浮雕法印刷。由于票面清晰美观,人物肖像栩栩如生,发行5万枚,上市即被抢购一空,现在十分珍贵。钢箔邮票不丹于1969年发行了一套12枚的钢箔邮票,用0.025 cm厚的钢箔制成,邮票图案介绍了世界钢铁生产发展简史。铝箔邮票1955年,匈牙利为了纪念本国铝制品工业创业25周年,用凹凸模板制成了世界上第一枚铝制邮票,图案为飞机冶金工业区。
