阜新蒙古族自治县福兴地乡前查干村,过去自然环境恶劣,风沙干旱、土质瘠薄,雹灾和早霜经常给农业生产造成很大危害。 这个村从1966年开始有计划地封山育林和植树造林,近十年间,营造黑松3,500亩,河边造林和营造林网663亩,再加上原有的残次林780亩,有林面积达到4,943亩,占土地总面积的33％。每年为农民提供松树枝和杨树枝50多万斤,使农民不再为烧柴犯愁了。
