One of the most ingenious and practical uses of solid nuclear track detectors is the virus counter. The virus counter is sometimes called the DeBlois-Bean counter, named after two Americans R.W.DeBlois and C.P.Bean invented the instrument. DeBlois-Bean counter works as shown in Figure 1.
