本集收入的作品均刊登于《解放军报》一版头条,非一版头条即使是获奖作品也不收,以名实相符。本集收入的作品均为部队(含非作战部队)新闻,非部队新闻如领导人活动的新闻不收;有些头条虽然是部队新闻,但对军区以下的作者借鉴意义不大的不收。共选入98件(100篇),故书名曰《例说100》。本集收入的作品以军以下部队新闻为主,共85件,又其中连队新闻占40%以上。所以如此,是想给部队新闻工作者
