Introduction This paper briefly discusses the factors that need to be taken into account for the design of the water supply to the hydropower station. Figure 1 is a typical intake socket design. The paper concisely points out the important aspects and design criteria of inlet design, and introduces the concrete examples of success and failure. The characteristics of inlet of high head, low head and pumped storage power station are discussed. Inlet Construction This section focuses on how to obtain high discharge capacity and minimum import losses while minimizing the size and simplicity of the water intakes including work gates, service gates, auxiliary equipment and trash rackers The lowest cost.
