本舰主要用于南海巡航、近海反潜以及我国海外航线护航用,强调良好的经济性、适航性,舰体采用模块化建造,部分采用民用船舶建造标准,以降低造价。电子设备以满足基本作战需要为准。各类武器均采用模块化安装,可根据情况进行调整。目前图中展现的是全配置状态。搭载一艘小型战斗登陆艇,可用于南海岛礁的巡逻、补给,特殊情况下还可以进行登陆作战。舰体长宽比小于8,适航性很好但快速性不佳,但航速指标本身也定得较低,最大航速不超过24节。
