Our previous study shows that the normal growth of Japanese shrimp requires a certain amount of sterol. Later, several groups further proved that sterols are necessary for the growth of shrimp, lobsters, crabs and so on. Cholesterol is very nutritious for some shrimp and has some phytosterols. Such as 24-methylcholesta-5,22-dienol, may also serve as an effective sterol source to some extent. However, according to D’Abramo et al, phytosterols, which are mainly composed of sitosterol and campesterol, do not completely replace the cholesterol found in the feed of lobster larvae. The research results show that bait is contained in stiltosterone-containing shrimp
